EXHIBITION: WOVEN BY THE GRANDMOTHERS WASHINGTON, DC Client: National Museum for Women in the Arts Size: 2000 sq.ft. Completed: 1999 This project involved the design for an installation of nineteen-century Navajo textiles. The design displays the textiles on platforms sized and arranged to keep objects out of reach without barriers, while giving the viewer a clear and dramatic view of the works. Graphics and video monitors are integrated into pylons that help to demarcate theme areas within the exhibit. Lighting and subtle color changes increase the drama of these incredible textiles. back |
