MUSEUM SHOP:
THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES
WASHINGTON, DC

Client: National Archives
Size: 2000 sq.ft.
Completed: 2003

This new museum retail space is a component of the renovation of the National Archives building. The new space was created in an existing utilitarian stack area and is modeled after the architecture of the historic building. The principal graphic elements are drawn from the Rotunda mural and documents from the Archives that illustrate the breadth of its holdings. Lighting is incorporated into recesses in the new coffered ceiling.
