EXHIBITION:
RENOIR TO ROTHKO

Client: The Phillips
Collection, Washington DC
Size: 17,000 sq.ft.
Completed: 1999

The scope of the project involved both the original Phillips museum and the design of a major exhibition— ‘Renoir to Rothko’ which documented the legacy of Duncan Phillips as a patron of the arts. The exhibition was designed to fill the entire museum. The renovation aspect of the project involved relocating existing lighting, new lighting, adjustments to partitions, ceilings, furnishings and the addition of ‘window shelves’ to help adjust the proportional balance of the gallery rooms.
